Lemu’s Manifesto

Nobody achieves anything alone. That’s something we often say at Lemu...

Lemu is a Mapuche word that means forest. Forests are collections of interconnected living beings — not just plants and trees, but all the organisms that live inside this forest are connected. They're working together for common survival.

This wonderful and unique planet we live on, where everything is connected, is sadly going through a massive, human-made crisis. But thankfully, nature itself holds the best solutions to that crisis. There is no silver bullet, yet the most powerful solution we have is to amplify conservation. That is how we can support nature in the best way possible.

So if we know all this, why are we still in the deepest part of the crisis? As we work with more and more conservation organisations, the problem becomes evident.

On one hand, there is a funding gap. Although there is plenty of money in the world, not enough is directed towards conservation efforts.

On the other hand, there is a data gap. It’s difficult to know which actions truly have impact — and which do not.

That is why we are building Lemu: a community acting on behalf of nature to amplify conservation. We are harnessing technology to guide investment towards effective conservation efforts, empowering us to work together and to witness our collective impact.

Our goal is bold yet possible: to help finance the conservation of 1% of Earth’s land surface within the next 10 years.

We can solve this crisis — together.

Let’s protect the only planet we share.
